Far Beyond the Wilderness

Far Beyond the Wilderness

Here the sunlight seeps through the trees, streams of dazzles my eye; as though they
were a healing remedy for the body and soul.
I am captivated by the beauty and splendor of this place. The serenity of the ever changing seasons
calms me. As I feel the warmth of the afternoon on my face.
The sights and sounds fill ny senses, as birds fly through trees and wild bramble bushes, in search of
its fruitful bounty.

As brambles glisten with drops of water from a previous down poor of rain nature provides a feast for the
starlings, blackbirds and thrushes.
I feel at home here, a place I have an affinity with. I hear the distant sounds of other people families
with their dogs, enjoying moments of bliss, in the care free lives they live.

As I sit upon a hand carved tree stump in the guise of a native Indian chief.
With my eyes closed. I take a deep breath; feeling the freshness of nature. I open my eyes, just as a red
admiral - butterfly lands upon a single fallen leaf.

Memories of a adolescent childhood flood into my mind. As I spent so many happy hours playing here.
I often wondered aimlessly, with a jar in my hands searching for insects and interesting rocks or leaves to
find.

It was my escape, a tranquil environment in which I was at one with the element.
Bound by shackles of relentless bullying and torment. I sought solace in the form of animals and insects,
in their own natural environment

Here, far beyond the wilderness amongst these radiant green pastures I am king of my own domain.
My imagination goes wild, exploring and searching for a world amongst the woodland.
I looked at gaps between the rocks, where dragons could hide; cloaked by darkness, whilst knights in
armour are eventually slain.

At night, it is shrouded in darkness. The nocturnal creatures scurry around on the hunt for food.
Foxes rustle in the undergrowth. As the distant sound of trains passing, breaks the silence for just a
moment, as I stood watching them both.

Far beyond the wilderness, is a place with precious memories for me. My hidden temple that I yearn to explore; a place I escape in my moments of emotional darkness and stress.

When I close my eyes, I still wish I was there. During times when I'm in my room on my own.
